Empowering Communities, Bridging Cultures, Building a Harmonious Future
Harmony Nexus Hub CIC is a community-focused organisation based in Birmingham, dedicated to fostering social cohesion, cultural integration, and equal opportunity, primarily serving the migrant communities across the West Midlands. Our mission is to break down barriers, build mutual understanding, and promote meaningful engagement between communities and public services.
Established in 2014, formerly known as Maandeeq Somali Community Engagement (MSCE), our organisation has evolved to reflect the growing diversity and changing needs of the migrant communities. As Harmony Nexus Hub CIC, we continue to be a trusted source of support, advocacy, and education, empowering individuals and families to thrive socially, economically, and emotionally.
We care, therefore we are.
All Services
We act as a vital bridge between underserved communities and essential public services such as the NHS, West Midlands Police, Mental Health support providers, schools and local authorities. Many members of our community face challenges in accessing these services due to language barriers, cultural differences, or lack of representation. Harmony Nexus Hub CIC is here to help fill that gap through outreach, education, and collaboration.
We tackle pressing social issues that affect the wellbeing of our community, including:
Domestic violence
Adult Skills, Training and Education
Female Genital Mutilation (FGM)
Homelessness
Mental Health
Cost of living & Financial literacy
Elderly loneliness and isolation
Youth mentoring
Health and Wellbeing
We deliver targeted campaigns, workshops, and media outreach to raise awareness and encourage community-led solutions.
We promote intercultural understanding by celebrating individuality & culture while encouraging full participation in British society. Our events and educational programs aim to foster pride in cultural identity while nurturing respect and inclusivity.
The Harmony Nexus Hub Youth Project supports young people by offering a safe, welcoming, and youth-led environment. Our programme is designed for youth who face daily exposure to violence and toxic stress. The drop-in centre offers a consistent space that fosters structure, personal growth, and acceptance. It’s also a space of celebration, promoting pride, identity, and a strong sense of belonging. Young people take the lead in designing and decorating the space, making it truly their own. They also have access to a wide range of activities, including swimming, African dance, hip-hop, fitness classes, and basketball.
Education and Employability skills are at the heart of all these activities, giving our boys and girls a fair chance in life.
We recognise that language barriers create significant hurdles. Our multilingual team provides interpretation, translation, and culturally sensitive guidance to ensure everyone can access the services they need with dignity and confidence.
Our community ESOL classes are a hit in our centre. Funniest conversations of trial and error make the best of our days.
Our aim is to empower every migrant, whether you are from Ukraine or Afghanistan, Syria or Somalia, YOU ARE WELCOME in our center to enhance your English skills
Our culturally sensitive approach provides safe spaces and practical resources to support women and strengthen families. This includes:
Sports & Wellbeing
Domestic abuse awareness and safety planning
Mental Health support
Parenting support groups and family resilience programs
Education about women’s health, rights, and UK laws
Workshops on forced marriage, FGM, and safeguarding
Peer-led support for survivors of gender-based violence
